How we can help prevent tragedies like Grenfell

Quakers want an economic system that has equality, justice and environmental sustainability at its heart.
We take action to help to create this economy. Friends challenge unjust economic structures. We work to build positive, practical alternatives - nurturing a new economy within the old. We strive to learn more about our economic system to inform and inspire our witness.
Quakers say that 'The global economic system is posited on continued expansion and growth, and in its pursuit of growth it is often unjust, violent and destructive' (Minute 23, 2011).
Quakers are exploring a vision of an economy that puts people and the planet before profit, and taking steps to make it happen. Reading groups all around the country are learning about the tenets of the new economy through workshops supported by our seven-part booklet series.

High levels of economic inequality are damaging the fabric of British society. Quakers across the country are involved in initiatives to support people experiencing poverty and are calling for greater political action to address the root causes of inequality.

Our bank accounts, pension funds and investments make us all a part of the global financial system. QPSW provides information and support to Quakers trying to manage financial resources in a way that is consistent with their beliefs.
